Fun with Google's Earth :-).

I stumbled upon some 40 or so bizarre and very unique Google Earth Photos. For example, below, these natural formations look like a human face when seen from Google Earth.

Almost artistic, isn't it?

The Face - Terrain in Alberta, Canada:

Here are a few more bizarre satellite images from Google Earth:

From a Rooftop - A Marriage Proposal:

The Heart - Galesnjak, Lovers' Island:

Gulliver's Travels? - Hunter's Hall Park, Craigmillar Scotland:

Land Art - Near Franz Josef Strauss Airport, Munich Germany:

At times I enjoy exploring "Google's Earth" :-) and hope you enjoy the images as well.

There are more images in the link below.

From one of my favourite films..

Its look has changed a bit in the past 50 years, but the house where Holly Golightly lived in Breakfast at Tiffany's is on the market. For $5.85 million, it will require some work for the aspiring single-family townhouse owner, since it's currently divided into two duplexes. There's also some debate over the extent to which the house featured in the film: the exterior was definitely used in the movie, but it's not clear whether the interiors were ever used, or whether those scenes were shot just on a Hollywood set. Either way, there are some decent bragging rights up for grabs here.

It looks much larger than it did in the film but then things always do..;-)

Hmmm tempting... Lol

Stumbled upon a Yoga App for my Ipad, (All-in Yoga HD) perfect for those times when I am traveling and/or have no time to make it to a class.

With over 300 poses, I can quickly create a daily routine and have had a great time so far exploring this app.

Public Hotel Chicago

Fed up with the overpriced minibars and service standards that plague the hotel industry, Studio 54 co-founder Ian Schrager recently unrolled Public, an affordable luxury hotel in downtown Chicago. Schrager reclaimed the walls of the Ambassador East Hotel and its classic restaurant Pump Room, imbuing a shock of new life into the historic structure. With value and simplicity as the stated ethos, Public marries upscale luxury travel with almost unbelievably affordable prices.

With austere lighting and dark interiors, the new appearance is a departure from the glitz and glam of the Pump Room of bygone days, which hosted celebrities of all walks from the Queen of England to Richard Pryor. For the restaurant, Schrager kept the name, ditched the dress code and over-priced entrees, and brought in chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten to head up the kitchen.

In addition to great suites and common spaces, the hotel also has a few more add-on amenities to boast about. The meeting spaces are ideal for creative workshops, a real boon considering Chicago's centralized location that makes it a perfect meeting point for businesses. The downstairs library and coffee bar offers international java drinks, so you can have your pick of café con leche, caffé latte or café au lait depending on your European lean. The fitness room is located on the upper floors and features an amazing view of the Chicago skyline, something greatly appreciated by health-conscious frequent flyers tired of exercising in dismal hotel basements.

Cool Hunting..

"My hands were too soft.. I had to find some special occupation, some kind of work that would not force me to turn away from the sky and the stars, that would allow me to discover the meaning of life." Chagall

Born in the town of Vitebsk Belarus (at the time part of the Russian empire) Marc Chagall was raised in a Hasidic family. During his school years, Chagall adopted a habit of drawing and copying images from books. This quickly developed into a love for art and the choice to pursue it as a career.

Throughout his 75-year career, during which he produced an astounding 10,000 or more works, Chagall drew upon his Jewish roots for inspiration. He used his great talent to create a unique world full of magic, poetry, enchantment and fantasy, rich in mythological and symbolic references.  He continued, in his paintings, to invoke his birthplace of Vitebsk, with its strong Jewish traditions, customs and everyday life.

Chagall occupied a unique place in world art by creating a form all his own; a poet, who revealed his poetry through colors and shapes, life experiences, memories, love and more...

Some of his work:

"Paris 1913"

"La Revolution"

"Moi et le village"

#ArtBasel Miami Has anyone Been?

It has definitely been on my "Bucket List" for quite some time. I am not sure why I have never been, suppose I just don't make it down to Miami often enough.

Art Basel, held annually - Dec 1st - 4th, is celebrating its 10th year of bringing artist from around the world to this beach location.
